I first heard of Dr. Deborah Stipek from the "Sectors of Early Childhood Education" multimedia program. I'm very interested in learning about child motivation and found that she's got a few books out about this subject and has been involved in some very interesting research projects. Hey Marlena,
ReplyDeleteNeat resources! I enjoyed visiting projectapproach; I went through some of the projects, and it really gave me some great ideas for extended lesson plans for my teaching teams--I especially found the Bugs projects (since it's near where I live)and the lunch project to be great ideas. The projects really seem to actively involve the kids as well as motivate them to see a project through to the end.
I liked additional resources you posted. I'm really became interested in the Motivated Minds: Raising Children to Love Learning ( K. Seal, 2001)link. My thoughts are learning shouldn't be drilled into young children. The early years should be open for creative and exploration. Creativity opens many doors for exploring minds. Great resources you have posted, Marlena.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad you all were able to benefit from these resources. I definitely got a lot from the ones you posted as well!
